Syrian Electronic Army a écrit :
Our Facebook group isn't like any other group; only a few days after opening our first page of the Syrian Electronic Army, the number of the participants in the page exceeded sixty thousand members, and all the sudden, the page became the main concern of the Facebook administration, which closed our page more than 22 times. After closing the first page, a new page was opened almost immediately, and the number of the participants in the page exceeded ten thousand after only a few hours. The new page got closed too, and a new page was opened once again. Each time the Facebook closes one page, the supporters of the page's cause, the members, and the administrators become more staunchly committed to the cause of the Electronic Army, which will never die or be forgotten regardless of the unfair practices of the Facebook administration.
So who are we exactly? And what is our cause? We are a group of enthusiastic Syrian youths who could not stay passive towards the massive distortion of facts about the recent uprising in Syria, and this distortion is carried out by many Facebook pages that deliberately work to spread hatred and sectarian intolerance between the peoples of Syria to fuel the uprising.
The heads of the so-called "Syrian Revolution" took the Facebook as their means of communication with the Syrians inside and outside Syria and used it to spread their destructive ideas. Through Facebook, they promoted for violence by the demonstrators and for chaos, urging the demonstrators to terrorize the civilians who refuse to join their demonstrations and to attack public facilities and anything related to the public sector. Here came the need for the Syrian Electronic Army to stop these godforsaken plans against our beloved country.
"So let's fight them using their weapon" this idea was what brought the Army to life. The Syrian Electronic Army's Facebook page began its campaign to spread the truth about what is really going on in Syria through social media too. Our first goal was to show the world the truth about the "Syria Revolution" which can be more accurately described as an armed insurrection that seeks to lead Syria into a dreadful anarchy. Unfortunately, we discovered that what we used to call as "independent and professional" media agencies and channels turned out to be biased and turned to have certain political agendas to follow and promote for. Our second goal was to communicate with immigrant Syrians all over the world who got tiered from the news that western media publicizes and the stories that news agencies adopt, which are closer to action/ sci-fi movies than to reality. We wanted them to know the truth about their country, not less nor more.
But how do we make the world listen to the voice of truth? How with all the highly reputable channels and agencies still speaking the story from one side and completely silencing the other? Here came the idea of "attacking" certain Facebook pages that target the sought audience. For example, after President Barak Obama's speech which bluntly gave president Bashar Alassad two choices – either do reforms and emendations or step down, disregarding that Syria is an independent, sovereign country- our Facebook group flooded Obama's page on Facebook with comments. All the humiliated Syrians, through commenting on Facebook posts, expressed their anger at foreign interference in Syria and their refusal of the western imperialism. A similar "demonstration" took place in Nicolas Sarkozy's Facebook page to denounce his incessant schemes to urge the NATO to introduce military intervention in Syria. Our team members, who we time and again assure are driven out of mere passion for their country, also flooded Dmitri Medvedev's page with expressions of gratitude for his stand in the face of Euro-American attempts to interfere militarily in Syria.
The Facebook administration didn’t like our activities, so they closed our pages with no previous warnings. Simply, an anonymous "Privacy and Security" official notifies us that deactivating our page "was not due to the usual response to reports on the page" and that " a decision has been made which clearly stated that this page and the pages similar to it be shall be closed" and it described that what happened in Barak Obama's official Facebook page as " offensive to the Facebook policy because the criticism was very acrimonious."
So, the Facebook administration will continue following its double standards, classifying pages as acceptable and unacceptable without relying on fair standards. And on the other hand, we, along with all the other supporters of the Syrian Arab Republic, will remain faithful to our cause of spreading the truth about all those who wish ill of our country and who are trying to fight it in all ways possible.
Finally, we would like to thank all those who helped us in our sacred cause of defending our country, and thank all those who carry in their hearts love and loyalty to Syria and its president, Dr.Bashar Alassad and the reforms carried out by him.
We will always remain Syria's loyal soldiers, ready to fight for it in any way possible, and absolutely against any attempt to weaken it.
Our vow is:
We Swear by the Almighty God to remain faithful to Syria
and its people and its Bashar and its Electronic Army
And We Swear to Remain United, Our religion is Syrian
And our Love is Syria's land and our goal is to make Syria prevail
And we are ready to sacrifice that which is dearest and most precious to defend it
And God is our witness
Long live Syria and its President and its Electronic Army.
